Browntown and Jessie are two cute bonded buns! Browntown is the loving, younger wife and Jessie is the older husBUN.
When I first met my wife she had two rabbits, Jessie and Buttercup (Butters for short). These two were also bonded and had a great, snuggling relationship. Butters and Jessie lived with us for a year or two, then one sad spring day, Butters passed suddenly.
After a bit of time went by, I decided Jessie needed a new girl! (Also, my wife secretly wanted another rabbit). At the time we only had ONE dog and ONE rabbit!!! I can’t believe it! Mostly because as of now, Fall of 2019, we have 4 dogs, 2 cats, and 4 rabbits!
Anyway…
In July of 2014, I set up a bunny “speed date” through Luv-N-Bunns Rabbit Rescue. We met an amazing woman that not only fostered about 10+ rabbits for Luv-N-Buns, but basically ran the rescue.
Elizabeth, rabbit foster extraordinaire, brought out bunny after bunny to meet our lonely bachelor, Jessie. When Elizabeth brought out this small, black rabbit with a light brown belly… it was love at first sight for Jesse and the little girl!
I asked for the cute bunny’s name. Elizabeth said, “her name is Bronwyn.”
I responded right away to that RIDICULOUS name and said, “Her name is Browntown?!”
Elizabeth, my wife, and I all had a long laugh. The Browntown name stuck. I don’t know how… maybe because we all thought it to be humorous or maybe because it was WAY better than Bronwyn!
Browntown is a Silver Martin. I had never heard of a Silver Martin. But apparently they are soft, friendly, and playful with a shiny coat. They are also often raised to perform in various pet shows!
Now, Jessie and Browntown are inseparable! They snuggle together, flop together, and clean each other like all bonded bunnies should!
